Hi All,

Sitting in Cynus hide with Ben Ward I spotted a Bittern flying low on the water heading North to South over open water, a distant view that I could not get a view on my camera but it was not a male. One to two minutes later the same bird flew low again on the same flight path, same plumage heading North both myself and Ben agreed it was not a male.

About 15 minutes later a male was seen again flyin low North to south out wide and again one to two minutes later we saw it flying low to the North in open water.

It does make me wonder if there is an active nest South/East on the swamp?

I did do an eBird list when I got photos of the male but have not included the first bird as though I know it was a Bittern but my view without optical aides ( and no photos ) I cannot describe the bird well enough to include it.

A link to my list with a couple of shots at 400mm that are not cropped to show location and distance of the bird.
