Well I don't know how I missed it but there is one report on the 3rd, good news.

Hi All,

After spending the last five days of 2023 at the wetlands and seeing up to three birds each day and with another birder spotting one on the last day of the Year we got some great views of a male spread legged in the reeds and I did get a not quite in focus shot of it in flight I thought to myself, What a great way to end the Year.

That night I thought I should go down again in hope of seeing one to bring in the the new Year. Arriving early but no sighting, as more birders arrived and asking if I had seen one the answer was no. At one point I did mention that perhaps they had left due to the Fireworks, big bangs and bright light.

Perhaps a coincidence but there have been no reports for the first three days of 2024?
