I received a text message yesterday alerting me to sighting of a Jacana at Rowes Lagoon. The Eremaea site this morning has a note entered by newish COG member DK, saying the bird was feeding about 50m out on Sunday. As the Eremaea moderator says, an "extraordinary"
sighting, and noted it was possibly the first for the southern tablelands since 1932 when one was seen at Gilgandra. I'm a little tempted to take a long detour on a trip to the Riverina thus morning in case it's still there!
