There were in decent numbers on Bruny, and especially on Maria at the start of March, audible and visual. But it must be reported that logging of old growth on Bruny and several other well-documented Swift parrot breeding sites are subject to
ongoing logging. Check ANU DIfficult Birds and Bob Brown Foundation for some details. I believe that the old growth wood chips are still a subsidised export - it is criminal.
