I see the new photo now. Good suggestion from Marg . The nest appears sturdier than the typical pigeon nest though.

My first guess from the context of the dead rosella is a Pied Currawong. Do you really mean “The eggs are about the size of a 10c piece.”? I don’t really believe that. A 10 cents is 24 mm diameter. Surely that is way too small. If a Currawong, it should be 42 X 30 mm. Crested Pigeon 30 x 22 mm so maybe. The white colour also is odd for a currawong but fits a pigeon. Can’t say I see some large grey flight feathers. The feathers showing there are consistent with a under side of the Crimson Rosella feathers. Nothing to gain either way by trying to move the nest. I also suggest wait to see what bird returns to it.

Is it a crested pigeon or a spotted dove nest?

It is illegal to disturb a nest.

Maybe wait to see what bird returns to it.  If spotted dove (feral) it can be removed.  Not sure what the rosella body has to do with it and one photo shows some large grey flight feathers.  Very weird, maybe something from Halloween?

A gardener friend just found a nest in a tree with the body of a crimson rosella next to it. One photo is attached I’ll send one or two more separately. As rosellas nest in hollows, the nest must belong to another bird. He is looking for advice what if anything he might do. The eggs are about the size of a 10c piece. The tree is in Mackenzie Street, Hackett. The gardener will be there for an hour or so but has left the tree alone while he works elsewhere in the garden.

Will send another photo or two now.
