Dear Chatliners.
I hope someone can help me with my Ebird app problem, please.
I have had Ebird running successfully on my iPhone 7 for several years without problems.
The Ebird version is listed as 2.6.4/(2.6.36). I have been running the iPhone on iOS14.whatever until recently, when I updated to iOS15.0 and now iOS15.0.1.
Until Sunday everything was going fine with entering data into Ebird, then suddenly, from Monday 4 Oct, I have had problems. When I start a checklist and then go to "choose a location" and tap on any of the locations, the program crashes. This occurs if I
use Recent, Nearby or Map options. If I put in nothing and stay with Auto selected latitude/longitude, when I get to the end, the program insists on me choosing a location - and then crashes when I do.
Now this might be partially my fault, as when I went to iOS15 and restarted the iPhone various windows popped up asking for me to choose various setups which I did not understand. I thought I took most of the defaults. I'm sure Ebird was running on iOS15.0
but maybe the problems started with 15.0.1 - I'm not sure, but I think not.
This iPhone is supposed to have security on it (as far as I know!) .
If anyone else is having problems such as these please let me know - maybe I have to wait for iOS15.0.2. On the other hand if everyone else's similar system is working okay then I have some other problem. Any suggestions on how to overcome such a problem
would be very welcomed.
If I enter my eBird account via the internet on a laptop computer it works fine, so the fault doesn't appear to be with the account - it seems to be the App itself on the iPhone.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Tony Willis
