Dear MAPW members and supporters,
Please help us stop the destruction of over 100 trees at the AWM, as well as the demolition of Anzac Hall and other preparations
masquerading as “early works” for the yet-to-be-fully-approved AWM redevelopment. We’ll be holding placards alerting the public to this travesty of due process, and urging people
to make a submission to the National Capital Authority by 30 April.
When:
· Thursday this week, 22 April, 7.45 am to
8.45 am; and
· Tuesday next week, 27 April, 7.45 am to
8.45 am
Where:
· We will gather on the nature strip of Limestone Avenue just past the Ainslie Avenue traffic lights on the same side of the road as the War Memorial
And a reminder: submissions to the NCA on these proposed so-called “early works” (aka salami-slicing) are due
by Friday 30 April. Your submission can be as long or as short as you like. NCA info is available here,
and the email address for submissions is m("nca.gov.au","WAconsultation");"> .
Points you could consider making are provided by Honest History here.
We’d love to see you on Thursday or Tuesday week if you’re free.
