I noticed, from where we were sitting, that the flying foxes in Commonwealth Park were quite disturbed by the F/A-18s each time they flew over, erupting from their roosts and flying around for a minute or two before settling again, whereas the F-35s, which sounded exactly the same to my ears, elicited no such response from them.
