Fly past

Certainly both species of ibis, Silver Gulls, at least what appeared to be two species of cormorants but they were very high, Sulphur-crested Cockatoos and Little Corellas, lots of what I think were Welcome Swallows  but quite a few other small species that I couldn't get a good fix on. When the aircraft started to come over I was more interested in them than the birds. Also what was very annoying was a Black Swan that was happy to show me he had a metal band but wouldn't let me read his red band in the murky water!!

Thanks Mark - any ideas what species those high-flying birds might have been? Ibis and gulls? Or perhaps woodswallows and bee-eaters on migration?

In an sms message reply to a Stuart Harris post I mentioned that while watching the various aircraft through binoculars from the Kingston Foreshore precinct I noticed hundreds of birds, many not visible with the naked eye, high in the sky. There were quite a few different species involved and some were flying in formation as if about to "attack" the invading aircraft. All in all it was a spectacular display from both the "war-birds" and "non war-birds", especially the Roulettes that did most of their aerial stunts directly over where my wife and I were sitting.
