Thought I'd share an image of my first definite view of (one) young with a nesting Tawny Frogmouth, visible in a street tree from my kitchen window in the Belconnen area. I was thinking about the parent birds during the intense rain Friday night,
so this was a nice surprise Saturday morning.
I am hoping more young may become visible in forthcoming days.
At the same time, a Crested Pigeon that had been nesting almost as long as the TF (in a Red-stemmed Wattle in our front garden) appears to have abandoned its nest after the rain, leaving at least one visible egg. The nest was not in a particularly sheltered
position.
(A very standard camera I'm afraid, nothing technically sophisticated).
best, Phil.
