Thanks Nicki. Much better idea. I’ll do some during the week with less people about. As to early results, I did have a quick look in the local area. Quite a few ibis flying over in groups. Unusually
a Pallid Cuckoo was calling nearby. 13 species in 20 mins. g

Subject: [Canberrabirds] Blitz update - Friday evening
Hi folks
As I write this the first band of storms is crossing the region, accurately predicted by the BOM.
After I let everyone know that some areas of the ACT will not be accessible this weekend and will have to be surveyed in a week or so, I have been asked by several people if there is the possibility that their sites (which are accessible
by sealed road) might also be granted an extension until next weekend.
Well, it wouldn’t be 2020 if we didn’t do things a little differently, so yes I will take surveys up until the end of next weekend as Blitz surveys. This takes the pressure off people feeling like they need to venture out in potentially
hazardous conditions.
For the Namadgi surveys we may need even more time than an extra week. I think that if you get a chance to do your surveys safely and in reasonable weather this weekend you might want to take that chance as I can’t guarantee next weekend
will be dry.
I look forward to getting at least some results this weekend.
Cheers
