Is there anyone out there who is good at identifying bird eggs? At a house we use down at Long Beach (Batemans Bay) an unknown bird built a nest under a tarpoline covering some bicycles in a downstairs semi-open garage when the house was vacant.
It must have been disturbed by the noise created by people in residence, because there has been no sighting of any birds coming or going for the past 3 weeks. Given how long the nest has been abandoned, I have long since given up hope that the eggs may hatch - but I would welcome any insights anyone can offer regarding the species that may have laid it. The egg is of the order of 15mm in length, pale brown in
colour with some speckled darkers spots. --
