Given the bluish cheeks it does look like a hybrid Eastern/Crimson Rosella. The bone coloured beak indicates an adult bird. Parrots often look at holes during the "non breeding" season and will often try to "guard" a favoured hollow. As has been noted on the chat line in the past there are quite a few records locally of hybrids.
