Martin, What data was available at the time was available to anyone who wanted it. There was an "embargo" on one or two species that several of our banding team were interested in. If people have asked for data I generally let them have access to it. This was what resulted in the papers in the international journal. I have recently given data on Painted Buttonquail to a PhD student in Queensland. The data is available to anyone who wants to use it provided it is not being worked on by anyone else. I have made it a stipulation that all the banding trainees analyse and publish some of the Charcoal Tank data before I will recommend them for an A class licence.
