Somewhat later the Northern Shoveler interacted with Australian Shovelers. The latter head bobbed towards the Northern Shoveler. The latter head bobbed towards the latter. It then went back to the bank to sleep. It was still there when I left at around 10.15am.

Steve Read and his son Lachie, and I saw the Northern Shoveler at about 0700 hours this morning hanging around the log on the far side of Kellys. A lot of Freckled and Pink-eared Ducks and Australasian Shovelers also present plus 1 Whiskered Tern. A nice comparison between the two shoveler species.

Roger Williams has just sent me a pic of one. I am not 100% sure it is but looks pretty good for one. Posting this for Roger as he has no email on his phone.
