This reminds me, not the most recent spring, but the two prior, I had been hearing what definitely sounded like a Masked Lapwing in Fadden on an almost daily basis, even though I have never seen one and cannot think of anywhere within hearing distance
where they occur. After a number of walks out searching, I found the culprit - a Red Wattlebird.
