And none (to my ears) in this lower part of Ainslie so far this season. (tho I heard a distant v. brief gurgle early this morning when walking back from the newsagent that for a moment I thought might be a
Koel but it was too short and too distant to be sure).

Thanks Con and Christine. I have some thoughts on this year’s low koel occurrence in this neighbourhood, previously a koel hotspot over many years, but I shall keep them until the season is further
advanced. Perhaps the coming warm spell will bring them in. (The appropriation of ‘ Me too’ for other purposes has left this chatline in need of a new phrase for reports that echo earlier reports. Perhaps ‘I also’? Doesn’t sound the same though.)

I have yet to record a Koel from Turner.

My first Koel for the season was a male heard calling at 6:37am on Sunday.
He has been calling loudly on and off ever since, but took time out to "eat" the figs which will not be ripe for months yet!
