Hi All
The Negus Crescent count this morning was up to eight individuals. It is quite possible that more were present. They had all gone by 10.30, flying deeper into Watson (in the general direction of the erstwhile Apostlebird's Wetland) when they left.
In the rich COG tradition I believe we ought to dub Negus Crescent 'Parrot Central' - at least until the adjacent paddock is swamped by the suburban tide.
This morning we enjoyed a psittacine feast: Gang-gangs, Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, Galahs, Rainbow Lorikeets, both species of rosella, Red-rumped Parrot, Swift Parrot and Superb Parrot.

This morning they were out the front of the houses and then decamped, some taking up positions in the lerp-ridden eucalypt just inside the construction zone around the bend. A few more had possibly headed into the woodland park, in the general

On second attempt at Watson yesterday I managed to see them, along with Alison, Mark and numerous other interested folk.
They flew in at around 4.50pm and when we left about 30 minutes later they were still happily feeding in the tree mentioned by Alison.
Photos were a challenge, due to light and distance but we all managed some photos.

Thanks to Ash and others for reporting these. There were 15 Swift Parrots at Negus Crescent around 8am. Plenty of other great birds around including up to 4 Superb Parrots, 2 King Parrots, 3 Rainbow Lorikeets and a Noisy Friarbird in the
same flowering Ironbark outside number 8. The local Noisy Miners would every so often chase a Swift out of the tree and it would fly in a wide arc almost hitting me where I was standing across the road. The birds flew towards Hope Park around 8:15am.
I had forgotten how colourful and beautiful Swift Parrots are. An awesome experience before heading off to work.
