Prue and I met Alastair Smith at the Hall TSR this morning to look for the Yellow-plumed Honeyeaters belatedly reported on Birdline yesterday. After two hours in the TSR, on both sides of the border, we had seen a lot of honeyeaters but no Yellow-plumes.

We then crossed to the eastern side of the highway to the patch of woodland opposite the TSR, north of the rest area at the end of Victoria St. Prue and I eventually located a Yellow-plume with lots of other honeyeaters and pardalotes. We had it in view long enough for Prue to get a few photos before a White-plume chased it off. Good that at least one bird has been around for at least a week, hopefully more people can connect with them.

See ebird report for a couple of Prue’s photos https://ebird.org/australia/view/checklist/S46361323

Cheers

Steve
