From what I understand the Flying Fox in not caught in the fruit netting but is happily eating as many figs as possible before it goes on its way ….the netting has been pulled back and hopefully will move on tonight.

I am not sure if people realise how hard it is to catch a free wheeling Flying fox in a 3 metre tree .

As we have said to Elizabeth if it is still in the fig tree tomorrow we will try and get it out so it doesn’t keep eating the fruit.

As an aside we have cut 40 Grey Headed Flying Foxes out of fruit netting so far this year, we have 18 in care at the moment.

Personally I think we do a pretty good job for 2 people ( volunteers )in challenging circumstances .

Elizabeth's message suggested ACT Wildlife were not being helpful.  Perhaps try this number Contact ACT Wildlife on 0432 300 033 rather than Canberra Connect.

If the bat is trapped and can't get out, ACT Wildlife should be able to help.  What suburb are you in?

Is the bat unable to get out by itself? Is it getting tangled. Is it a fruit
bat or a small bat? How about taking off the net?
