The little girl was called Pamela Raper ( about 15 months ) and she was nearly
lifted off the ground with the eagle’ s talons embedded in each shoulder.
Fortunately one of her siblings was carrying a .22 rifle at the time and a shot
that missed probably caused the eagle to release its grip.
Personally speaking I am satisfied that this is not an urban or even a rural
myth.
