And my eBird alert from last night tells me David Dedunczuk saw 4 at the East Uriarra Reserve yesterday (https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S42867975), including at least one juvenile with a brown hood.

This seems to be a rare breeding record, with the 2015-2016 COG Annual Bird Report (ABR) listing only the 3rd breeding record in the COG AoI.  However, at least to me, breeding is not unexpected given the increase in records over the past few years as shown in the ABR, and with some now seeming to be in established territories where they can be reliably found such as the above.
Is it going to parallel the significant increase in numbers over the past 30 years of the Grey Butcherbird – if climate change is the driver quite likely?!

Surely … surely …  no-one is going to come up with THREE Pied Butcherbirds …?

Nice picture, Rick. There were two Pied Butcherbirds in a similar location yesterday morning.

There was a Pied Butcherbird calling in the paddock over the western fence of Kama NR this morning.
