No such luck, but while standing on a corner in bosky Aranda at about 7 AM yesterday I looked up to glimpse a Channel-billed Cuckoo flying over south to north.
A perusal of records seems to indicate that mid- January is late for this species to appear in the in the ACT. However I had a good view for about three seconds, and can’t
think what else it could have been.
