I am not particularly squeamish and happy to remove large spiders or wasps or other creepy crawlies out of my house.
But I was spooked tonight by a large centipede – at least 15cm long. It marched across the carpet in my TV room with head raised, looking very intimidating.
I scooped it up inside a sheet of paper and chucked it outside. But it leaves a worry in my mind about how it got into the house, whether there might be others and how much of a risk they present.
Have other people seen one of these creatures inside a house?
