For those interested I drove out to see the reported Inland Dotterels and
Orange Chats on Sunday. I dipped but did see some nice birdlife throughout the
day including the first Apostlebirds just out of Young at Thuddungra.
Highlights were:
- Banded Lapwing (10+), Brown Songlark (5+) along Harris Lane
- Blue Bonnet (2), White-browed Woodswallow (heard overhead), Grey-crowned
Babbler (4), Rainbow Bee-eater (4), Jacky Winter (2), Speckled Warbler (2),
Striped Honeyeaters (4), Peaceful Dove (1) in Bimbi SF
- Spiny-cheeked Honeyeater (1) at Ben Halls Campground in Weddin NP
- Emu (4) at ‘Weddin View’ along Back Piney Range Rd
- White-fronted Chat (7) at Wentworth Gully along Nowlans Rd
- Grey-crowned Babbler (4) in Eualdrie landcare site along Holy Camp Rd
- Rainbow Lorikeets (pair seen, others heard) by Emu Creek in Grenfell
Cheers
