owlet nightjar

My son and a friend were at the ANBG this morning and they saw an owlet 
nightjar, up higher than the rain forest gully on the northern side.  A person 
was photographing it.  Isn't this a bit early for owlet nightjars?  
Unfortunately I cannot walk up that hill to look at it.  Maybe the ones at CP 
are peeping out of their nest
