ANBG Powl

At one time yesterday (a little later than when Ryu and I saw it together), an ANBG staff member was showing the bird to some visitors . Same fellow was staffing the visitor centre desk when I went in to go to the bookshop. So not only telling people where it is, but in some cases taking them to it. But I agree with Martin, I suspect the birds aren't too concerned - looking at visitors as if to say "yes here I am, now go away and let me sleep"

In the same tree but much higher up today, probably double the height from yesterday, receiving excessive attention from what seemed like every visitor to the gardens (including all the non-birders). I presume it's presence is being advertised at the visitor centre. If I was the owl I wouldn't stick around much longer.

Just after I found it this afternoon, a group of a dozen or more people arrived to see it, and the owl took a keen interest in all the activity below it. The dense, dark vegetation makes photography difficult. The clearest view was from directly below the bird.
