Latham's Snipe at Horse Park Drive Wetlands.

This afternoon I flushed one Latham's Snipe in  the Horse Park Drive Wetland in Forde. The extension of the dual carriageway is proceeding with one of the ponds being partially filled . This does not seem to be affecting the snipe bog as the water it receives is separate from the pond  closer to the road which is being filled in. Think of it as a pair of lungs. A ridge separates the pond and the snipe bog. The Snipe bog is similar to the ICOLs  (Intermittent closing or opening lakes and lagoons.) in that it can be inundated , as it is at the moment , or it can dry out.
