I did also think about disturbance today, and we have at least two Brush-tailed Possums that are very active around our house at night.  I've also seen and heard Southern Boobook around here too.  I am in east Kambah, close to Mt Taylor.  I did check the moon phase today and agree it wasn't bright last night.  Another disturbance factor I pondered is wind and rain and there was a bit of that.

I don’t know but maybe they were disturbed by a possum or owl. I can be sure there was certainly not a lot of moon light last night! We are close to new moon.

I heard Pied Currawongs calling between the hours of 2am and 4am this morning, a sound I usually associate with dawn, dusk and any other time of the day.  I'm not usually awake at those night time hours, so perhaps it is fairly common with the street lights or when there is a lot of moon light?
