I don’t know but maybe they were disturbed by a possum or owl. I can be sure there was certainly not a lot of moon light last night! We are close to new moon.

I heard Pied Currawongs calling between the hours of 2am and 4am this morning, a sound I usually associate with dawn, dusk and any other time of the day.  I'm not usually awake at those night time hours, so perhaps it is fairly common with the street lights or when there is a lot of moon light?
