Subject: Re: [canberrabirds] Koels?
Heard one yesterday but they are starting to become less regular after a high point a month ago when I would daily hear or see 3 to 5 inter acting. Incidentally the Wattle birds around my place in Watson have fledged young from four nests
over the season and to date I haven't heard or seen any young Koels

Just when I was about to muse that I'd not heard Koel calls in mid-Flynn for about a week there was one call at 09.30 this morning.
Yesterday morning there was what appeared to be a Coot family of 4 birds on Fassifern Pond, Dunlop.
They were undeterred by a man fishing 100m to their west.
