Today I witnessed a pied currawong preying on a house sparrow. I heard a
commotion and then saw the currawong fly past my window and land on the fence
with a flapping house sparrow in its beak. The sparrow was not a nestling but
fully fledged. With a couple of bashes on the fence the sparrow was dispatched
and then the currawong flew off with it. Now if I can just train the currawong
to take common mynas as well ……...
