Where do central Canberra ibises roost?

I am pretty sure that the Australian White Ibis are breeding on the Gungahlin Lakes Golf Course – can any COG golfer confirm this? – and have seen them flying in a “northerly” direction from varies parts of northern Canberra. Perhaps this is where all the birds are heading for as it is not all that far from the O’Connor Ridge. They do breed in “The Sanctuary” at Tidbinbilla NR but that is in the wrong direction from the description given.

I’ve received the following message from a friend of mine concerning the roost site for ibises that spend their days in and around the city.

 

Each evening from our balcony, which faces O’Connor Ridge, we see ibises flying north or NW from the CBD  sometimes individually but also in groups – we counted a total of 18 ibises flying in groups and individually on Sunday evening. They presumably are going somewhere to spend the night and presumably also fly back toward the city and lake each dawn – we haven’t observed this though. Do you know where they are likely to spend the night?

 

 I confess to not knowing the answer to her question but am sure there is someone out there who can. Any assistance appreciated.
