The name of the Firetrail I turned north off Mulloon FT is North Black Range not Bald Hill FT.
I have rewritten the directions

I went to Tallaganda Forest via Forbes Creek onto Mulloon Fire Trail. I saw the quailthrush about 2 kms short of the intersection with North Black Range FT. Here the forest is relatively open and there are plenty of granite boulders. This is a hot spot for quailthrush although you don't see one every time. In fact I keep a look out for them from Hoskinstown onward.  After a 40 minute brisk walk i returned to my subaru and drove to the intersection with North Black Range FT where I turned north. I saw the other 3 birds within the first 2 or 3 kms. Stopping to see the Flame Robin. A little further on I noticed a small dark robin.  The treecreeper quietly nearby. I was surpried to see the bold rufous eyebrows.
