Subject: Collared Sparrowhawk eating leg bones of a bird

 

While watching a Collared Sparrowhawk eat a bird this morning, I was surprised to see it swallow the leg bones including the claws. It continued to feed on the rest of the carcass as soon as the bones were swallowed. I will eventually put the video up but attached is a sequence of photos from it.
