Yesterday a white cockatoo with a long downward curving upper beak, yellow wash under wings appeared in our garden. The bird was silent and alone. It seemed like an old bird. It had characteristics of both a corella (light greyish
2 toned bill, faint pink around the bill, flattish head, no obvious crest) and a sulphur crested cockatoo ( eg white skin around the eye, stocky build). A picture is attached. Any suggestions? I wondered if it was a cross between a corella and a SC Cockatoo.
We have never seen any corellas (Little or Long-billed) in this area.
Joan
