I have just checked eBird and see that several observers have reported the species (in numbers varying from 17 to about 30) at Trucking Yard Lane in July.    To my knowledge this is the first year they have been recorded in the Bungendore area in July.

We got back from Atherton yesterday and saw no Plumed Whistling Ducks at Trucking Yard Lane as we drove by.  Checking the archive I noted a message from Wayne Gregson reporting 30 of them a few days ago.

This species was everywhere in North Queensland with at least 5,000 resident at Hasties Swamp near Atherton

and 2,000 as a conservative estimate of those at Shanessy Park in Rockhampton on Tuesday.
