We got back from Atherton yesterday and saw no Plumed Whistling Ducks at Trucking Yard Lane as we drove by. Checking the archive I noted a message from Wayne Gregson reporting 30 of them
a few days ago.
This species was everywhere in North Queensland with at least 5,000 resident at Hasties Swamp near Atherton
and 2,000 as a conservative estimate of those at Shanessy Park in Rockhampton on Tuesday. Martin Butterfield
