Last night was the first time in this GBS year that we have heard a Boobook
(Wybalena Grove). We didn't hear any in spring, which is unusual, but Jerry
Olsen may know the whereabouts of the bird/s we usually hear.

Cheers

Subject: Boobook owl at Deakin,

These past few nights we have left windows open allowing us to hear a
distant Boobook owl. Last night around 3.30am the owl sounded close , no
more than 200m but we could still hear the distant Boobook.
Indeed, the calls overlapped. The calling only lasted about 5 minutes in
each case. We live close to the Deakin shops.
