Good that Barbara arranged nice weather for it. A sample that shows about 55% of data sheets come in on paper forms. A proportion that probably will increase
in the next few weeks as electronically generated returns presumably come in quicker (and likely are all in), than posted or delivered at COG meeting. Does not support the recent suggestion that paper forms is an outmoded system.......

Subject: [canberrabirds] interim blitz results
It’s shaping up as being a most successful blitz, in terms of participation and species recorded. So far I’ve received 258 datasheets (85 via eBird, 31 COG electronic, and 142 hard-copy – including a drop from COG’s PO Box or my mailbox
yesterday from Kral, Walcott, Ledger, Mackerras, Veerman, McDonnell, Willis, Bell/Munro - thanks) from 56 named participants. Some 167 bird species were recorded, with 66 breeding. Particular highlights thus far include the Powerful Owl (yay! It stayed around),
Cicadabird (Old Boboyan Rd), Bush Stone-Curlew (Mulligans), Black-eared Cuckoo (Mulligans), White-fronted Chat (Nth Weston ponds), Crescent HE (Bendora Ck) and Hooded Robin (Glendale). If you haven’t submitted your records yet, pls make sure to bring them
to the November meeting or, if you can’t make it, post them to COG, PO Box 301, Civic Square 2608. Many thanks. b
