Good one, good numbers of Bogongs in the ACT probably due to very good conditions for moths to breed up in the central and some parts of northern NSW, though probably not from southern Qld, where things have been very dry.

The annual mass migration and aestivation of bogong moths in the Australian Alps can be observed very well on Mt Gingera in the Brindabellas at the moment. I took the attached photo there on Sunday. Large flocks of ravens and currawongs were around, perhaps attracted in part by the moths. Two impressively large copperheads were also seen at close range lower on the peak, one eating a skink. |
