Given its bird has been in the Sydney area since 1880 and has not 'done much' I think the risk to the ACT with its harder, drier and at times colder climate than the Sydney area is pretty minimal.
As example of what we might be able to do locally is to remove the 'National Collection of Cotoneasters' that appears to be feeding vast numbers of Silvereyes and Currawongs (good native birds) over on railway land at the back of Jerrabomberra wetlands.
Good know where all those seeds are going.
There are plenty of exotic things we should worry about, introduced plant/tree diseases are my number one from what I have seen on a professional basis.
