a bird clearly and loudly gave a substantial part of its call several times along the W fence line of Narrabundah Hill this morning, a bit further S from where there were upwards of 15 last spring/summer, pretty much under the high voltage wires.
My first for this season. It hasn’t been clear to me what numbers of this species we might get this spring/summer but with parts of the inland very dry there may be more than might be expected from the (still) relatively wet conditions here. So keep
an ear out for them, their call is unmistakeable.
