Far too optimistically we went past Campbell Park late morning, hoping that the south side fog had lifted faster than at Gungahlin.  Through the gloom in the car park we saw an Australian Hobby at the top of a dead tree.  It was being harassed by 4 or 5 noisy miners and was eventually forced to move to a railing on the top of the building.  After watching this for a few minutes and taking some terrible photos that are only just good enough for ID, we visited the tawny frogmouths which were huddled together in their tree just off the car park waiting for the sun to appear.

This afternoon, at the corner of Campbell Park favoured by watchers and photographers, a young Peregrine Falcon in the well-known Long-billed Corella tree;  nearby a pair of foraging Grey Currawongs.  Noisy Miners are taking over this area, along with many other woodland patches around Canberra, in my view the most significant local development in the bird scene in the last ten years
