The inundation of the Noisy Miners may have something to do with the fact that the Department is busily cleaning up the understorey in public places to reduce the risk of assaults.

This afternoon, at the corner of Campbell Park favoured by watchers and photographers, a young Peregrine Falcon in the well-known Long-billed Corella tree;  nearby a pair of foraging Grey Currawongs.  Noisy Miners are taking over this area, along with many other woodland patches around Canberra, in my view the most significant local development in the bird scene in the last ten years
