The water level at Rowes Lagoon appeared to be so low today that we nearly did not walk around it. However, not to be put off by the apparent lack of birds, we set off along the northern end and were rewarded with  two Australasian Bitterns flushing close to us and a third one flying over the swamp. All three birds flew to the southern end.
