A Spotless Crake was showing well at Kelly’s Swamp yesterday, venturing out of the reeds onto the drying mud just south of Bittern Hide in the dull grey, overcast mid-afternoon...

 

...which means I have now seen all our crakes and rails at Kelly’s over the past 18 months, with the exception of the elusive and occasionally illusory Lewin’s Rail.
