I am not brilliant at recognising calls let alone transcribing them.  My description would be "a descending whistle, but a bit faster and shorter than the normal Horsfields call".  All four of them seemed to be calling so the hysteria seemed to be slf-reinforcing.

I am interested in this phenomenon, particularly in Koels as I raised in my chat line post during last week.

My GBS site has just been visited by 4 Horsfields Bronze-cuckoos.  2 had almost unbarred breasts but all were chasing each other around the canopy of some moderate sized eucalypts making  brief version of their call.  I'd normally regard this as display.
