as reported by Ryu Callaway yesterday (and several days ago on Eremaea), the scaly-breasted lorikeet is still visiting the (quite wonderful) Riordan St park in Fadden. This morning at 8am sharp it and its rainbow lorikeet friend flew into smallish euc right next to the small playground, stayed 5 minutes, then departed again back into the suburb. the park was alive with other parrots - numerous king parrots, lots of eastern and crimson rosellas, a few little corellas and some noisy sulphur-crested cockies. Lots of noisy miners unfortunately. A lovely patch of woodland, no mown grass and lots of eucalypts sandra h |
