I also know of one who built a bower in an O’Connor garden this season, he built one then demolished it and re-built it. 

I assume there must be girls around as well

When thinking about the distribution of birds in the ACT its always good to have a look at the excellent Birdinfo pages on the COG website.  The entry for Satin Bowerbird shows that they have a presence on both sides of the Lake and particularly on the Southern side of Lake Burley Griffin (Yarralumla and Stirling Park).

Unfortunately, as can be expected when I report bird "sightings", it came in injured possibly car strike on Commonwealth Avenue outside the British High Commission and was taken to a vet for treatment.
